Since moving to this surgery I am very impressed with the standard of care and the range of services offered. I have always found them to be helpful and friendly.

i have been appauled by the treatment of my elderly mother in law who has dementia and other associated health conditions. She has not been treated cruelly and at times without dignity and respect. She has been left in pain and suffered unnecessarily. We requested a continuing health care needs assessment several months ago and this request has been ignored. We asked for a prescription for incontinence pads and despite several further requests have been waiting for this for several months.
When we asked for some respite care in a place where her medical condition could be treated by district nurses on a daily basis, we were offered a temporary bed in an intermediate care facility. After one week, we were told that she needed to move to another home in Derby for respite care. We contacted her GP Dr Davidson today and she told us they do not cover the home that she is now a temporary resident in and that she can no longer be treated by the practice who know her and her medical history she has been with for 20 years. Her GP appeared to wash her hands of her despite the fact that she has not provided her with access to the health service and care that she needs.
It is incredible that someone could treat a confused elderly lady so badly. She has been a patient at this practice for 15+ years and never made any real demands on the pratice until the last 12 months. It seems incredibly sad to me that now at the age of 86 when she needs their care more than ever that the practice can wash their hands of her in this brutal and uncaring way.

We are sorry that you are dissatisfied with the care your mother received from our service. We would be more than happy to meet with you to discuss your concerns. We are always sorry to see our long-standing patients leave the practice. As many wish to stay with us, we have had to enforce a strict practice boundary policy. Unfortunately, we simply do not have the resources to travel to other areas, should a visit from our team be requested. We wish your mother all the best in her convalescence.

We have just joined Brook Medical Centre and only seen Dr Davidson and she was excellent in every way

The doctors and nurses have always been nothing but excellent. I always feel relaxed and safe at this surgery
